ABOUT THE DASH GALLERY

Austin Dickey’s photographs are more than images; they are windows into the way he saw the world. His work speaks to both adventure and intimacy, revealing a soul drawn to beauty in all its raw forms.

Austin was an adventurer, a traveler, and a storyteller who carried his lens from the California coast to the deserts of the Southwest, across the peaks of Yosemite, and deep into the Grand Canyon. Each photograph is a fragment of his journey—a moment he managed to make stand still.

On April 3, 2025, Austin died by suicide at the age of 30. His death is a profound loss to all who knew and loved him, but his art remains—a testament to the depth of his vision and the tenderness of his spirit. This gallery is both a tribute and a conversation. It is a way of keeping Austin’s vision alive while inviting others to see through his eyes, while also breaking the silence around mental health.

Proceeds from donations, gallery sales, and royalties from Jacquelyn Dickey’s book, The Dash will support the Austin Dickey Creativity in Advocacy Fund at the Community Foundation for MetroWest. These funds will provide the Austin Dickey Creativity in Advocacy Scholarship through Active Minds, the nation’s largest nonprofit focused on empowering youth and young adults to transform mental health perceptions across society.
